Reception and Key Stage 1 Blog

Children in Year 2 have been learning all about ‘The Great Fire of London’. They have researched some fabulous facts about how the fire started in Pudding Lane and that Samuel Pepys decided to go back to bed when it just started a few miles from his home in Seething Lane! We all loved the fact that the rich people would bury their cheeses to keep safe!

The children have made some brilliant, replica homes which are going to be set alight when we have our local fire brigade visiting us.

The Gruffalo

Wednesday, 26 September 2018

Year 1 have settled well into their new class and are enjoying getting to know their new Teacher, Miss Nicholson. They have started the Autumn term learning about the Gruffalo and a variety of other Julia Donaldson books.

They have made masks to act out the story of the Gruffalo and have produced some great work on describing the Gruffalo with some super adjectives.

A great turn out for the Phonics Workshop

Tuesday, 25 September 2018

Parents and Carers of children from Reception and Year 1 were invited to a phonics workshop delivered by Mrs Pirie. It was great to see so many of you there.

We are happy to help with any questions or queries you have about phonics, and the best people to speak to would be Mrs Pirie, Miss Nicholson or Mrs Vardy as they would be able to guide you in the right direction.

Thank you for your support.
